It's too soon to say...

And I don't want to jinx it.

But I haven't had an episode to log since Dec 1.

That's the longest stretch I've gone without one since it started... so what's up?

Is it possible that whatever was happening has healed itself? I was reading a story recently about a woman who had a brain clot/bleed which caused temporal lobe seizures but which healed itself after a few months. Could that be what's happened?

I don't know yet and for all I know it could start up again tomorrow, but I'm cautiously hopeful.

I also don't have my results from my EEG and CT scan since the neuro is on holidays and I won't see him until January 20, after the MRI. My *hope* is that the time lapse between the CT and MRI will show that something was happening and is improving over time.

We'll see....

update...pattern broken?

For the first couple of months my "bad" days (with the strongest episodes that made me feel like I need to go home and sleep) coincided with my monthly cycle, specifically ovulation. So I thought there was a hormonal tie (which isn't uncommon) and was expecting a bad day on the weekend. However, the peak day seemed to come early, last Tuesday. That was about 4 days earlier than I expected. And it wasn't as bad as the previous peak days. So I'm not sure what that means... maybe there is no hormonal connection and the first couple were just coincidence...? Will have to wait and see what happens. The good news is that symptoms have been extremely light since that peak day last Tuesday, so I'm feeling pretty good.

People keep asking if I have any answers yet, and I don't. I probably won't know anything until late January. My MRI is scheduled for Jan 19 and my next neuro appointment is Jan 20. Hopefully then I will know something! In the meantime I'm just tracking.

I'm also trying to get my overall health back on track. Normally I'm very healthy and active, but over the last few months of not feeling well plus a sprained ankle, I have been less active and eating a lot of comfort food. So now I'm trying to eat better, run more, and drop the extra weight I've gained... also working on healthy brain habits including nutrition, education, and mental exercise. :)
